About this experience
A private boat charter is the simplest way to see Gran Canaria from the sea on your own terms. The Malu V is a Tullio Abbate motor yacht, and when you book it, the whole boat is yours: no other passengers, no fixed route, and a local skipper at the helm so nobody in your group needs a licence or any sailing experience.
We sail along the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, the side of the island that sits in the lee of the trade winds. Because the island itself shelters it, the sea here is usually calmer than on the north or east coasts, which is exactly what you want for swimming stops and a relaxed day on deck. Heading west, the road runs out and the cliffs take over: coves such as Veneguera and El Perchel are far easier to enjoy from the water than from land.
On board there is a sun deck for lying out in the sun and the sea breeze, a chill-out area, and everything you need to get in the water: snorkel gear is included, and so are food and drinks. You choose how long you want the boat for, from a short one-hour taster to a full eight hours along the coast, and you agree the plan with your skipper: more time at anchor, more coastline, or a longer trip that ends as the light turns golden.

How long can we hire the boat for?
You can book 1, 2, 3, 6 or 8 hours. The booking calendar only shows start times that fit the length you choose, so pick the duration first.
Can children come?
Yes, it is a private boat for your family. Tell us the children’s ages when you book so the skipper can plan the day around them; shorter charters tend to suit young children best.
What if the weather is bad?
Every trip depends on the sea. If the skipper decides conditions are not safe, we offer you a new date or cancel at no cost: you pay nothing until the day. We let you know by phone as soon as we know, sometimes the same morning.
Is there a toilet on board?
Please ask us before you book and we will tell you exactly what facilities the boat has.
How do I pay?
You book online and pay in cash at the marina on the day of the trip: no card is needed and nothing is charged in advance. Your place is held as soon as the booking is made. We also ask for a mobile number, because if the sea changes we call you rather than email.
